Fossil Peanut Wood

"Peanut wood" is a silicified (petrified) wood, generally of a black/brown colour with numerous white borings, which were made by a marine wood-boring bivalve, Teredo. This petrified wood was called peanut wood because the patterns resemble peanuts.
